NFL Player Sent to Intensive Care Unit after Louisiana Car Accident

NFL running back Charles Scott was involved in a serious car accident earlier this month in Louisiana. Exactly where the accident happened is not clear, but Scott’s injuries required hospitalization in the intensive care unit.

Scott was a passenger in the vehicle involved in the accident. According to his agent, he is doing well and is out of intensive care. His agent added that Scott has some cuts and bruises, but he will be fine. According to his agent’s tweets, the injuries are not career threatening.

Scott thanked his friends, family and fans for their prayers and support. He said he hopes to be out of the hospital and home soon

This is the second serious automobile accident involving an NFL player in Louisiana. Last summer, Giants player Chad Jones suffered a severe leg injury in a one-vehicle accident in New Orleans. Doctors almost had to amputate his left leg, but Jones is currently rehabbing his leg and plans to play again in 2012.
