Woman wants to hold New Orleans grocery store accountable for injuries

A Tensas Parish woman slipped and fell inside a New Orleans Whole Foods and is suing the grocery store for her injuries. She also named a Whole Foods employee as a defendant for failing to clean the area where the incident occurred. According to the lawsuit filed last month in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, the plaintiff slipped on a “piece of produce and/or greenery” inside a New Orleans store.

As a result of the fall, she suffered injuries to her left knee, left leg, left hip, left foot, right arm and lumbar spine. The plaintiff pleads past and future physical and mental pain and suffering, permanent disability and loss of enjoyment of life. Her husband is also a plaintiff in the action, claiming a loss of service, support and society from his wife’s accident.

The complaint accuses Whole Foods of failing to train employees on cleanup procedures, failing to remove debris and liability for defective premises.
