Woman Falls in Bathroom and Sues Apartment Complex

A woman was visiting a friend’s apartment when she slipped on some water in the bathroom. She is now suing the Peace Lake Towers apartment complex for her injuries in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. The slip and fall accident happened last March.

According to her complaint, the water created an area of slippery footing and constituted an unreasonable risk of harm to people walking in the area. Because of the apartment complex’s alleged negligence in managing and maintaining its premises, the plaintiff suffered significant injuries to her person, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiff alleges that the apartment complex failed to use reasonable and ordinary methods to keep the property safe, and that it failed to warn her of dangerous conditions. She asks the court for damages for mental pain, anguish and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, in addition to medical bills and lost income.
