Louisiana Man Faces Multiple Charges in Fatal Car Accident

Last month, Louisiana State Police Troopers arrested a 33-year-old Sulphur man in connection with a fatal car accident that killed three people, including a 3-year-old girl in Allen Parish in early April. Police obtained an arrest warrant based on eyewitness accounts, forensic evidence and a follow-up investigation. The driver faces three counts of vehicular homicide, DWI 1st offense, reckless operation, obstruction of justice, no seatbelt, criminal mischief, filing a false police record, no head lamps, two counts of negligent injuring and interfering with the duties of a state trooper.

On April 2, the man was driving his 1999 Toyota Avalon at high speeds when it struck the back of a Dodge pick-up. The collision caused the pick-up to veer off the road, roll and hit a tree. The 45-year-old pick-up driver, 3-year-old passenger and another passenger died in the truck accident. Another pick-up passenger suffered moderate injuries.

The deadly collision occurred on U.S. Highway 165, approximately 1 ½ miles south of Kinder.
