New Orleans Couple Sues Hospital after Finding Blood in their Water

In a bizarre and grotesque incident, an Orleans Parish married couple was at the Tuoro Infirmary visiting a friend last July. While sharing a cup of ice water, they noticed a “glob” of blood in their cup. They are now suing Tuoro Infirmary in Orleans Parish Civil District Court in connection with the incident.

After discovering the blood in their water, the couple vomited and became concerned about Hepatitis and other blood diseases. They notified a nurse at the infirmary and a doctor told them it is unlikely that they caught anything from the blood. Doctors examined the two, but they did not draw any blood. According to their complaint, the doctors told them that further examination was not necessary because they could not catch anything from the incident.

The husband asked for the cup of water that contained the blood, and if he could take a picture of the ice machine. The lawsuit claims that staff destroyed the cup, thus intentionally destroying crucial evidence. The suit further alleges negligence and that the plaintiffs suffered from anxiety, stress and inconvenience.
