Harrell & Nowak settles rear-end accident for injured driver

On September 28, 2010, our client was stopped at a red light in LaPlace, Louisiana, when she was violently rear-ended by a fully-loaded 18 wheeler.  The driver was hauling a load for his employer and did not have time to stop his company truck before rear-ending her van.  The force of the car accident caused significant damage to the van driven by our client.  Both the van and the company truck were totaled in the car accident.

Following the auto accident, our client was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a fracture of her spine at L-3.  She was treated for her broken back, back and neck pain at the hospital and later released with pain medication and a muscle relaxer.

Fortunately, even though her car was totaled in the accident, she did not require surgery to treat her injuries following the rear-end car accident.  She was treated conservatively for a year after the rear end car accident for headaches, back pain, neck pain, arm pain and other injuries.  Her treatment consisted of pain medication, injections, physical therapy and anti-depressants.

Harrell & Nowak represented her and filed a lawsuit against the truck driver and the employer that owned the truck.  The firm successfully settled the case for $150,000 with the company that owed the truck involved in the rear-end car accident.
