Man’s Road Rage Leads to Multi-Vehicle Crash

A man’s fit of road rage caused a five-car accident that left one person injured in New Orleans earlier this month. The incident happened on Interstate 55 and police have now charged the driver with aggravated obstruction of a highway and negligent injury.

As reported at wdsu.com, the driver was upset that a tractor-trailer in front of him was dropping rocks on the highway. He was so upset that he pulled in front of the tractor-trailer and slammed on his brakes. He then got out of his car and approached the semi with an upset look on his face, according to the semi driver. The semi driver tried driving around the man’s vehicle when a pickup truck collided with the semi.

After colliding with the semi, the pickup struck a Toyota Tundra. Another vehicle hit the Tundra, according to the police report. The pickup driver that struck the semi suffered injuries in the collision, and a rescue helicopter transported him to a nearby hospital. Police arrested the driver in the incident.

A police spokesperson said accidents like this are 100 percent preventable. It was indeed bad judgment by the driver. His anger led to a multi-vehicle accident and an injury.
