The Worst Drivers in the Country are in Louisiana

Despite the immense pride we have in our state, Louisiana is home to the worst drivers in the country. That, based on the results of a study by carinsurancecomparison.com, as reported at their website. The website examined three sources of data including, driving fatalities, tickets and drunk drivers. What this means for drivers here is that we can expect to pay higher car insurance rates. You can read the full study here.

The study revealed that states in the south have the worst drivers overall. The northern states had the best safety records, which included Massachusetts and Minnesota. In addition, the study’s results seemed to suggest that ticketing does not do much to deter bad driving. The states that handed out the most traffic tickets were among the bottom 10 in the states with the worst drivers. The real culprit among the worst states appears to be distracted driving. Even in states with low numbers of drunken driving cases and accident deaths, distracted and careless driving are still prevalent.

It appears that even in states where people obey the speed limits and use designated drivers, talking on the cell phone is still a popular activity behind the wheel. Do you consider yourself a poor driver?
