Two New Orleans School Bus Accidents in One Day

There were two accidents involving school buses on the same day earlier this month in New Orleans. One teenager suffered injuries in one of the bus accidents, according to a report at wdsu.com.

In the first accident, a vehicle struck a 16-year-old girl after she stepped off the bus near Interstate 10 around 6:00 p.m. Rescue personnel transported the teen to a nearby hospital where doctors say she is in serious condition. Police issued a citation to the driver that hit her.

The other bus accident happened about around 5:00 p.m. also near Interstate 10. A school bus rear-ended a vehicle at an intersection. The driver of the car said the bus actually hit her twice, according to police. The woman said the bus driver got out of the bus and said he had to get going because there were 30 kids on his bus. The woman called police and said it took over two hours for them to arrive.

A police spokesperson commented that they take all accident reports seriously. The police found out that the bus accident did not involve injuries, and accidents with injuries have priority, according to the spokesperson.

Did the police respond fast enough to the accident?
