Woman Alleges Doctor Operated on Wrong Side of Her Face

A woman from Jefferson Parish underwent minor surgery at a Louisiana eye clinic and claims the doctor’s error left her with a drooping eyelid. According to the plaintiff’s complaint, the doctor operated on the wrong side of her face. She is now suing the ophthalmologist, Dr. Owen Leftwich, for damages, as reported at louisianarecord.com.

In October 2010, the plaintiff went in for a temporal artery biopsy. She alleges that the doctor performed the biopsy on the facial nerve and not the artery. The result, she claims, was nerve damage and a drooping eyelid. The plaintiff had corrective surgeries for the eyelid, but they were not successful. She is suing the doctor for pain and suffering, medical expenses, disfigurement, and partial loss of vision.

That is why it is crucial that you have an experienced lawyer on your side. While there may not be anything that can reverse the physical damage, you can still recover fair compensation for your injuries from medical malpractice.
