School Bus Crash Sends Over 50 People to New Orleans Hospitals

Last week, a school bus crashed into two vehicles in New Orleans. Emergency responders transported over 50 children and adults to local hospitals after the bus crash. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries, as reported at nola.com.

According to reports, the 56-year-old bus driver crossed the median on Downman Road and struck two occupied vehicles. Police said there was something lodged between the brake pedal and accelerator on the school bus. After colliding with the two cars, the school bus hit an approaching RTA bus.

Emergency workers treated about 30 people at the accident scene and more went to nearby hospitals on their own. More ambulances and an additional RTA bus carrying paramedics arrived at the scene to assist the accident victims. Some of the victims did not have immediate injuries but wanted to go the hospital regardless, according to the article.

Even if you do not feel injured after a car accident, it is best to seek medical help immediately afterward. Some injuries are latent and do not physically manifest until days or even weeks after the accident. A doctor can perform tests to see if you are at risk for any injuries. In addition, seeking medical help immediately afterward can increase your chances of a full financial recovery for any resulting injuries.
