Father Charged in Vehicle Rollover that Killed His Son

An 8-year-old New Orleans boy tragically lost his life when his father crashed their car this past July. Last week, authorities booked his father on charges of vehicular homicide, DWI and three counts of negligence, according to a report at nola.com. In addition to the death of his son, three other passengers in the car suffered injuries.

In July, the suspect lost control of his SUV on the Morrison Road exit ramp. He hit a curb and flipped the car several times before it came to a rest. The driver, his son and another 8-year-old girl ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. His son died at the scene, according to police. The surviving victims suffered a fractured skull, broken arm and other cuts and abrasions.

There is the unfortunate loss of a young life here. In addition, the injured passengers have to deal with painful injuries and costly medical treatment. They have the legal right to seek compensation from the negligent driver. If you find yourself in a similar situation, do not settle with the driver’s insurance company without your own legal representation.
