In Jefferson Parish, a woman is suing a local doctor she claims is to blame for leaving a foreign object in her body during a total knee replacement.
In 2010, the physician performed the plaintiff’s total knee replacement at Ochsner Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. During surgery, the doctor carelessly left a foreign object in her knee (a trial implant) that should have been removed during the initial surgery. The woman stated that she sustained severe and disabling injuries due to the incident and subsequent medical problems.
