Woman Sues Bed Bath & Beyond after Merchandise Falls and Injuries Her

A woman is suing Bed Bath & Beyond after she was severely injured by merchandise that fell on her head from the second floor of the store. On June 28, the woman filed suit against the negligent employee that injured her and the retailer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court in New Orleans.

According to the lawsuit, the injured woman contends that an employee on the second floor of the store was moving a ladder and caused merchandise to fall from shelving. The merchandise struck the woman on the head and neck, injuring her.

The woman stated in the lawsuit that Bed Bath & Beyond failed to provide safe premises and also failed to properly supervise and train employees when performing activities. An unspecified amount in damages is sought for the cost of damages including:

·         Physical pain and suffering

·         Medical expenses

·         Potential loss of future earning capacity

Types of Premises Liability Injuries

In many cases, premises liability claims are filed over injuries that are serious but usually not life-altering, such as broken bones and lacerations. In other instances, however, premises liability lawsuits are filed when victims suffer catastrophic injuries such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and second or third degree burn injuries. These types of injuries can damage an individual’s mobility, cognitive thinking or physical appearance forever. If you or a loved one has suffered from one of these types of injuries, our lawyers will fight so that you can receive the maximum possible compensation for your medical expenses, treatment costs and pain and suffering.
