Parents and Unborn Baby Die in a Brooklyn Car Crash

A young man and his pregnant wife were killed after the cab they were riding in was T-boned by a reckless driver in Brooklyn on March 3.

The driver of the BMW, Julio Acevedo, raced down Kent Avenue at more than twice the speed limit around 12:30 a.m. in Brooklyn.  The BMW rammed the cab containing the expecting couple, killing them instantly. After the collision, Acevedo and his female companion got out of their car and fled the scene. Witnesses told police that when people attempted to ask Acevedo if he was all right, he and the woman ignored them and quickly left the scene on foot.

The young couple was identified as 21-year-olds Nachman and Raizy Glauber, who died at the scene. Doctors were able to perform a cesarean section and deliver the couple’s baby boy; however, the newborn was not in good health and died before 8 a.m. the following morning.

The Daily News stated, “The horror of a young Brooklyn couple killed in a hit-and-run accident became a triple tragedy.”
