Pedestrian Dies after Covington Man Struck Her with His Car

On March 10, a man called 911 to report that he had struck a pedestrian on Carroll Drive with his 2001 Ford Focus. Police and paramedics responded to the scene and rushed the victim, 51-year-old Lisa Pitre, to St. Tammany Parish Hospital, where she died the next day.

Police identified the driver of the Ford Focus as 21-year-old William Marshall Seither Jr. When police arrived at the scene, they suspected Seither was impaired. Seither admitted to using drugs earlier in the day, and he agreed to a field sobriety test as well as a blood draw.

Police arrested Seither for DWI, careless operation, and first-degree vehicular homicide. Impairment and speed are believed to be contributing factors in the incident.
