An Alabama man bought life insurance with a credit card promotion.  The insurance company attempted to cancel his policy because they did not charge the premium to his credit card as agreed.   During this dispute of cancellation, the Alabama man died.  His aunt was the listed beneficiary.  She claimed the money, but the life insurance company refused.  Harrell & Nowak filed a lawsuit to collect the life insurance.  After filing the lawsuit, H&N was able to negoatiate a final settlement for the life insurance proceeds to go to the deceased man’s aunt.

H&N was hired by a family to help obtain life insurance proceeds for the death of thier nephew who died of cancer.  The nephew purchased life insurance offered through his credit card that required him to pay his premiums with the credit card.  The life insurance company quit billing the card, and then told the man his policy had lapsed for nonpayment.  As soon as he learned that this, he sent the premium to the company and asked them to continue to bill the credit card.  But the insurance company refused to acdcept the premium, reinstate the policy, or issue a new one because he had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
